We’ve gone from spring snow to POWDER conditions!

Here are some highlights for this weekend: Santa Fe has moved up the closing date by a week and is closing this Sunday and there is a rail jam on Sunday... Taos has extended the season by a week... Pajarito has reduced priced tickets... Sipapu has reduced priced tickets… Purgatory has new lift hours and extending season through April… Wolf Creek has College Day and Local Appreciation Day this weekend.

Lift hours are now: Lower mtn lifts 9:30 - 4:30, upper mtn 9:30 - 4:15, AM half day 9:30 - 1, PM half day 1 - 4:30. The terrain park is open. Will be closing a week earlier than scheduled, with closing day this Sunday, March 26. For closing weekend, all lifts and all facilities will be open.  In addition, Saturday March 25th will be the Gladfelter Memorial Bump Contest and Sunday March 26th will be the Ski Santa Fe Rail Jam.  Both days will feature live music at Totemoffs. On closing weekend, there are reduced priced tickets for Saturday and Sunday.  Rates are: Adult All Day $62, Student All Day $53, Child All Day $48. Other reduced rates apply. The Kachina Peak Lift is open as conditions and weather allow. All the chutes are open on a rotating basis. Closing day has changed! Will be open daily through Sunday, April 9th. However, will be closed Monday, April 3rd for Annual Employee Ski Day. (Previous closing day was April 2). Coming up: the 2nd Annual Kachina TWiST, a Kachina Peak Lift lap-a-thon benefiting the Taos Winter Sports Team James Herrera Endowment Fund to provide scholarships to youth. April 1st from 10:00am to 2:00pm. And then April 2 is the annual pond skimming contest.

Car Load Wednesdays (where up to five guests in one car ski for just $99 total!) and Local Appreciation Thursdays when lift tickets are $39 for adults and teens.

Deals: There are several ways to save money: There are two for one Tuesdays, Carload Wednesdays (where up to 5 ski or ride for $50 total) and Local Appreciation Thursdays (where adult and teen tickets are $25, kids tickets are $15) nearly every week through early March. Also, kids 6 and younger, 4th graders, 5th graders (report card required) and guests ages 40, 60 or 70 years and better ski FREE everyday. In addition, active military members ski FREE, just bring your active military I.D. to the ticket window and receive a FREE lift ticket.

Will be open daily through April 2 and then open Friday through Sunday through April 30. Lifts run 10am – 5pm (backside open until 4:30pm). After delays due to an immense amount of snowfall this winter, the new surface lift at the bottom of the backside is now open. Lift 11 is a pair of transfer lifts takes skiers and snowboarders across the toe of the slope from roughly the bottom of Dirty’s Secret, a new trail at Purgatory which debuted this season, Siegele Street or Lower Bull Run over to the bottom of the Legends Express. Lift 11 is a modernized rope tow design, called a Swiss Cord, which skiers can access from any point along the alignment to easily traverse over to the base of the Legends Express.  Positioned end-to-end, spanning approximately 1,300 feet, skiers are able to grab any point and move to the west, toward the high-speed quad.
