Country Rocks the 2014 Billboard Music Awards

Country music burned up the Billboard Awards last night

Carrie Underwood is this year's Billboard Milestone Award recipient.  Miss Thang got the nod for the all-genre, fan-voted honor, which was presented during ABC's Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas last night.
Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line earned trophies as well.  Bryan was named Top Country Artist during the ceremony, while his CD "Crash My Party" took Top Country Album.  And when FGL’s "Cruise" was named Top Country Song, Luke was one of the first to congratulate the duo with a hug as they made their way to the stage.  Alan Jackson's "Precious Memories: Volume 2" captured the Top Christian Album category (we just never saw that during the broadcast).
As promised, Underwood, Bryan, and FGL also participated in the event.  Carrie joined Miranda Lambert to sing their new duet, "Somethin' Bad."  Luke performed twice - on his own and with Florida Georgia Line.  Lambert also served as a presenter, while Shania Twain handed out the first award of the night.  Brad Paisley appeared as well, in conjunction with the new reality series "Rising Star."
