Moore covers Motley Crue classic, releases video
Just a few days after unveiling a snippet of Brantley Gilbert‘s cover of “Girls, Girls, Girls,” Motley Crue have revealed a full-length track from the upcoming album “Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute to Motley Crue.”
The new track, a cover of the band’s hit ballad ‘Home Sweet Home’ performed by Justin Moore, also features Crue singer Vince Neil — although the guys in the band are quick to point out that it’s still very much Moore’s cut. After he told Rolling Stone that the finished version is “the country version of ‘Home Sweet Home,’” Neil corrected, “No, it’s Justin’s version of ‘Home Sweet Home.’”
Calling it “one of my favorite Crue songs of all time,” Moore admitted, “It has been pretty unreal singing with Vince Neil.” But for Neil, it sounds like the honor’s all his. Reflecting on Moore’s performance, he marveled at how well the new sound suited the song, saying, “Once he starts singing it, it’s like, ‘Yeah, you know that’s country.”
‘Nashville Outlaws,’ which also features Crue covers performed by Darius Rucker, Rascal Flatts, Cassadee Pope, Gretchen Wilson, Big & Rich, LeAnn Rimes and more, is due in stores on August 19th.
