Kacey Musgraves is going to pair up with Katy Perry for "CMT Crossroads" this year. It's not too shocking. After all, their association goes back a bit. After GRAMMY-winner Musgraves joined Perry's "We Can Survive" concert at the Hollywood Bowl last October, Perry picked her as one of the opening acts on her "Prismatic Tour."
"“It’s going to be a blast to play on each other’s songs this 'Crossroads,' says Perry. "It will be a preview to our Prismatic World Tour road trip this summer which I can’t wait for!” Miss Musgraves agrees. “I’ve been such a huge fan of Katy and her vision since I found out about her," Kacey says in a statement. "And since she’s found out about me, she’s been an amazing light and friend. So joining forces with her for 'Crossroads' is going to be incredible.
It should be fun to hear Katy sing "Follow Your Arrow," and even more fun to hear Kacey tackle Katy's breakthrough hit, "I Kissed A Girl." Plus, the June 13th airing of the "Crossroads" episode will give fans a nice preview of what's happening on the tour. While the outing is already underway overseas, the North American leg of the trek kicks off in Raleigh, North Carolina June 22nd.
