Keith Urban Makes Plea To Preserve Nashville's Music Row

Aussie-transplant Urban stands up for Music Row

Keith Urban may not have been born here, but his love for Nashville could never be denied. That’s why it’s not too surprising that he’s made a public statement about something big happening in Music City.

On Friday, he offered a written appeal in the "Opinion" section of Nashville's "Tennessean" to protect the city's famed Music Row, which he says is "currently under threat from developers."  Keith notes that "so many original buildings" are still standing, and attract musicians of "all genres" from "all over the world" who want to "immerse themselves in the kind of creative center that so many other cities have lost."

While he allows that "Nashville's growth is exciting,” he’s also clear that it shouldn’t come “at the risk of losing the creative epicenter that truly makes Nashville Music City."  Urban adds that he's hoping those who agree with him "will come together as a united front," and "continue to be vocal about preserving" Nashville's Music Row.
