Lambert, Underwood to perform "Somethin Bad" duet at the Billboard Music Awards
Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood will team up for a duet at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards. And we'll give you two guesses on what they'll have in store. Okay, we'll spill. The ladies are set to debut a new song titled "Somethin’ Bad," a track from Lambert’s upcoming album "Platinum," which is set for release on June 3rd.
“I’m a huge Carrie Underwood fan,” Lambert tells Billboard. “‘Somethin’ Bad’ is a meshing of our styles and there aren’t many female collaborations in our format, so I’m really excited to be debuting it on the Billboard Awards.”
While Lambert was thrilled to get Underwood for the track, she admits singing with the powerhouse vocalist made her nervous. “Singing with Carrie Underwood is very, very intimidating. I’ll be honest. She is an amazing vocalist,” she says. “Asking her to do this was nerve-wracking. I sent her an e-mail, a long, blabbing e-mail about if she wanted to sing on the record, it could be cool.” Lambert says she also hopes Underwood will appear in a video for the song. And considering their longstanding friendship, we're betting it'll happen. The 2014 Billboard Music Awards will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 18th at 8pm ET on ABC.
