The Band Perry Happy To Raise Their “Voice” For Shelton

The Bottom Line:

It's Team Shelton All The Way For The Band Perry

In case you’ve been under a rock, rhe Battle Rounds are underway on NBC’s “The Voice,” and this week, The Band Perry on the show helping to mentor Blake Shelton’s Team. As you might imagine, they’re pretty excited to be a part of the show, and Kimberly Perry admits that when Blake called to invite them, that she and her brothers “thought about it for like point two seconds.”

And while it’s fun to work with Team Blake in general, the Perrys admit that they’ll always have a special place in their hearts for Shelton because he was the first one to bring The Band Perry out on tour when their debut single, “Hip to My Heart” was just hitting the radio.

Reid Perry notes that they look up to Blake “literally and figuratively.” Although some artists might be nervous critiquing other artists, The Band Perry says it reminds them of when they were just getting started. “We learned one thing from day one,” says Kimberly. “That was receiving constructive critique from people who watch our shows and from people who knew so much more about music and singing and playing in the music business than we did.” It also shouldn’t surprise you to hear who the Band Perry is picking to take the win this season. “[Blake’s] got a pretty good track record,” says Kimberly. “What is it, 3 out of 5 wins at that point? I think it’s gonna be 4 out of 6. I’m feeling good about season six and Team Blake.”
