(TRAGEDY IN TEXAS!)... AT LEAST TWO DEAD (DOZENS COULD BE!) AS MASSIVE EXPLOSION RIPS THROUGH FERTILIZER PLANT, NEARBY HOMES AND BUSINESSES

An explosion at a fertilizer plant near Waco, Texas has killed at least two people, injured hundreds and caused a nursing home to collapse, trapping residents inside.

Victims, including children, with blast wounds and lacerations were being taken to local hospitals.

The blast at the plant in West, Texas at 7.50pm (CST) on Wednesday left fires burning as the area was evacuated.

Local residents, some more than a mile away, reported windows being blown out and hearing an explosion that sounded 'like a large bomb'. The cause of the explosion has not yet been identified.

At least ten to 15 buildings have been completely demolished, and many people could be trapped under rubble.

LATE UPDATE: 50-75 homes destroyed.

** According to a local TV station (KXXV), five firefighters and one police officer had been killed. Police did NOT confirm this during an early morning press conference.
