Should You Drink Skim Milk Or Whole Milk

Choosing the type of milk you drink for your cereal, coffee or sipping a glass straight up has become a very confusing task. Per the USDA National Nutrient Database a cup of whole milk has close to 5 grams of saturated fat and the same amount of skim milk (aka nonfat milk) has less than 1 gram.

That’s not the whole story, however – some research says high-fat dairy could actually be GOOD for you and there’s really no consensus about how it affects other parts of your diet.

If it’s calories and protein you are counting, skim milk is the winner when it comes to nutrition but some people don’t like the flavor, so really any kind of milk you choose will be beneficial for your diet—it’s all fortified with Vitamin D and other nutrients as well as calcium…..now go enjoy your whole milk, reduced fat or skim milk—it’s all good!
