Coming soon to Chipotle? “Autocado,” a robot that can take up to 25 pounds of unpeeled avocados and slices them in half, removes the skin and pit, and then drops them into a bowl for a worker to turn into guacamole.
The company is testing a prototype model at its Chipotle Cultivate Center in Irvine, California, and officials say the goal is to cut guacamole prep time in half.
The chain is also testing another robot named Chippy, and yes…it helps makes tortilla chips.
