Chris Young Goes Into Audience At Show To Sing With Cancer Patient

During a recent show in Lexington, Kentucky at Rupp Arena, Chris Young shared an emotional moment with a fan who made an extra special effort to be there.

While performing "Who I Am With You," Young noticed a woman in the audience holding up a sign that read, "Chemo Yesterday...Chris Young Today." The country star then decided to go out into the audience for the remainder of the song, which he sang alongside the woman.

Following the show, Young shared a video of the moment to Instagram. The clip shows him in the middle of the crowd singing with his arm around the fan. The woman was clearly overcome with emotion, although she did manage to continue singing along with Young.

"Moment from last night...the sign said 'chemo yesterday, Chris young today," Young wrote on Instagram, adding, "So I went out in the audience to finish this one 🙏🏻"

It was a night to remember for both Young and the fan. A Facebook post, shared by the unidentified woman's daughter, Mandi Hoffmann, says, "Sending a huge thank you to Chris Young for pulling my mom out of the crowd to sing her favorite song with her in celebration of her last chemo treatment." She adds, "It was definitely a night we will never forget."

Young's Rupp Arena show concluded his year of arena and amphitheater dates, which took him to 35 states. The tour featured supporting acts including Chris Janson, Eli Young Band, Dylan Scott, LoCash, Jimmie Allen and Matt Stell.

On Thursday, November 28, Young, along with Janson and Tenille Townes, will perform at the 93rd Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. The parade will begin at 9 a.m. until noon in all time zones, airing live on NBC.
