Tyler Hubbard revealed the stories behind some of his tattoos while he “added some fresh ink,” during a recent conversation with Inked magazine. The Georgia-born country star shared a glimpse of his conversation with the outlet on Instagram.

Hubbard pointed out his “least inspirational tattoo” as he kicked off the “tattoo tour” with Inked. “I have a lot of incredible work that I’m really proud of, and this represents a season of my life that I’m not not proud of, but this tattoo — not to mention, it’s on prime real estate on my arm, my upper arm here — I had (an) extreme passion for motorcycles. I still love motorcycles. I love dirt bikes. But at the time, I literally, I think didn’t even have a vehicle. I just rode my motorcycle everywhere. So, I thought it was a good idea to wake up one morning. I got on Google, and Googled ‘motorcycle tattoos.’ and I think the second image that popped up, thought ‘that’ll be cool. That should work.’ It’s a skeleton riding out of the grave because he’s living to ride and riding to live. So, needless to say, it’s probably not my coolest tattoo I’ve ever gotten.”

Hubbard also pointed out one of his first tattoos, the song lyrics he has tattooed on his ribs, “which was super uncomfortable. …I had two sessions on my ribs that were pretty brutal. I think that would go in the category of most painful tattoos that I’ve gotten.” He said he hasn’t “quite had the courage,” to tattoo the tother side of his ribs yet, “but I still got some good real estate over there, too, so I might venture over to the other (side of my) ribs at some point.”

Hubbard caught up with iHeartCountry on the red carpet at the 17th ACM Honors, which was set up at Robert’s Western World, a historic honky tonk on Lower Broadway in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee. Hubbard presented awards and delivered a reimagined rendition of “Park” on the legendary Ryman Auditorium stage. He told iHeartCountry at that time that he’d spent his year on the road after releasing his sophomore solo album, Strong. He said he plans to “carry that momentum into the studio again pretty soon and start working on the next project.”
