Some fresh snow over the weekend at some resorts and lots of snowmaking right now. There are a handful of resorts open.

Here are some highlights for this kickoff week for the season: Sipapu is open daily all week with one run (and more to come)… Red River will open Wednesday…. Purgatory open daily with 2 runs on upper mountain on front side with skiing and mountain biking… Wolf Creek now open daily with 40% of runs… Taos open Thursday… Santa Fe schedules opening date for Dec. 2.

Will open for the seasons this Wednesday with ski runs and the tubing hill. Making snow on 7 runs right now. Gold Rush Hill and the teaching terrain will be open, and don‘t miss the Frozen Turkey Race on Thanksgiving, and the Thanksjibbing Rail Jam and Torchlight Parade on Saturday. Save on lift tickets during our opening weekend (prices good through Nov. 26). Adult tickets are $48 and teen tickets are $43.

Due to an unseasonably warm autumn, Ski Apache has pushed their ski season opening date to Dec. 15, instead of Thanksgiving weekend as initially planned. Mountain officials have confirmed that the gondola and Apache Wind Rider Zip Tour will begin operations on Nov. 24 and will be open Thursdays through Sundays. The safety of our skiers and snowboarders is a top priority. For those who are looking to get on the mountain early, Ski Apache will be opened for mountain biking on Friday and Saturday, November 24 & 25 and will stay open every Saturday from 9 am - 4 pm going forward, weather permitting.

Lifts 1 & 2 are open with access to Westfork and El Diablo on the upper front side, 9am to 4pm. Ride Lift 1 up to the top and then can ski and ride the 2 trails around the PowerHouse using Lift 2. Then ride Lift 1 back to the base. Lift 4 is also running for mountain biking. Ticket prices are: $49 adults, $39 teens, $29 kids. NEW! Who skis FREE everyday: Kids 7 and under, 4th graders (Proof of grade required), Guests ages 80+.

Wolf Creek

Nova Lift, Wolf Creek’s beginner double chairlift, will operate from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with both natural and man-made snow conditions. Nova and Susan’s runs will open for skiing and snowboarding with lift tickets $28 for adults, seniors and children. Treasure, Bonanza and Raven Lifts will also operate with very early season conditions. Lift tickets to access Treasure, Bonanza and Raven Lifts are $48 for adults, $31 for seniors and $26 for children. These lifts will give access to skiing on the upper mountain. Expect unmarked obstacles. More terrain will open as conditions become available.

Now open for the 80th season. Agassiz chairlift will be open from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. to the Midway Unload Terminal.  All skiers and snowboarders will be required to unload at Midway. Midway Catwalk, Logjam, Wild Turkey and Round Up trails will be open to the bottom of Agassiz Lodge offering approximately 1.25 miles of skiing on 25 acres. Beginner terrain will not be open.
