PARALYZED WOMAN STARTS WHEELCHAIR DANCE TEAM

When a car accident left Chelsie Hill paralyzed from the waist down at 17, her life completely changed. And although she couldn’t walk and had to relearn things like how to sit in a chair and get dressed, she was determined to follow her passion - dancing.

The teen had been dancing since she was three and she didn’t want to give up on the thing she loved, so she didn’t. Hill is now 25 and she’s created the Rollettes, a group of women in wheelchairs who love to dance.

“I had no idea that this would ever come from it,” Hill says. “I do dance intensives every six months for people all over the United States and it’s just been really cool. I get to meet girls that are my age that have never hung out with another girl in a chair.”
