Tips For Taking The Perfect Vacation Food Porn Pics

As we previously told you, 75% of travelers say they’d likely look at whether a destination is known for its food and drink when picking their next destination, and it seems many don’t wait to long before diving in. A new Booking.com survey finds that 52% of people will try a local delicacy within 24 hours of arriving at their destination, while 69% will actually wait even less time, going for it within just two hours.

Of course, lots of those travelers are doing more than just eating those delicacies. That’s right, more and more people are snapping photos of their food, with many including them in their online reviews, and not surprising, Americans are among the biggest offenders, but not the biggest overall. According to the site, the English post the most food photos with their reviews, with Americans coming in second, followed by Italians, and let’s face it, their food is pretty delicious to look at.

Top 10 Nationalities Posting Food Photos In Online Reviews

  1. English
  2. American
  3. Italian
  4. Russian
  5. Chinese
  6. Spanish
  7. Japanese
  8. German
  9. French
  10. Australian

Of course, not all food photos really convey how amazing a dish is, but there are some things you can do to make sure you’re taking the perfect foodie vacation photo. Among them:

  • Good lighting - natural light will capture your tantalizing dish the best, so if you want to take foodie photos try to get a seat by a window or in an outdoor area.
  • Composition and shape is a must - try multiple shots at multiple angles to make your dish look like a piece of art.
  • Let the beauty of the food speak for itself and keep away from added filters
  • Include people with the food photos
  • Don’t take forever, because if you do that delicious dish may look good, but it will certainly get cold and be less desirable to eat.
