Ways To Survive The Day When You Didn’t Sleep Last Night

We all know how important it is to get enough beauty sleep every night, but sometimes it just doesn’t happen. And when your newborn, or sick kid, or work deadline, or a wild night of sexy time with your new love interest keeps you up all night, you still have to make it through the next day like a normal functioning human. So here are a few tips to help you survive and recover after you pull an all-nighter.

Take a shot of wheatgrass - They call it nature's energy drinkbecause it’ll give you a boost without the jitters that a Red Bull or four coffees will. The reason wheatgrass works is that it’s loaded with nutrients, but the taste isn’t its best feature, so try something sweet, like apple juice to wash it down.

Pop a vitamin B12 supplement - It’s one of the eight B vitamins that help the body turn food into glucose which gives you the energy to get through your long day.

Keep some trail mix handy - When you’re sleep-deprived, don’t grab a sugary snack because you’ll just end up crashing later. You’re better off with nuts - specifically, cashews, almonds, and hazlenuts, because they have magnesium, which helps convert glucose into energy.

Eat chia seeds - These little seeds help stabilize blood sugar, keep you from feeling hangry, and help you stay hydrated - which you need the day after an all-nighter!

Burn an energy-boosting candle - Try a grapefruit or lemon candle because citrus scents can help keep you awake.
