It was one year ago today that I lost my black lab//boxer Mookie to cancer. From the time I saw her in the pen at Albuquerque Animal Control, we were connected forever. She always knew what her Dad needed. She was always there, greeting me at the door every single time I came into the house and knowing when sitting next to me so I could pet her is just what I needed to step back and take a breath! I have always believed that there are spirits (people, animals, events) that come into our lives for a reason. They have a purpose and they make us better. At the top of the list, Mookie taught me about unconditional love. I miss her every day. Even though she is no longer physically with me, I can still feel her spirit!
