Nobody likes to get sick, and some people are willing to go to great lengths to never have a cold or cough again. Ricola USA’s "Sick and Tired" survey talked to 1,000 adults to find out how far they’d be willing to go if it meant not getting sick, and let’s just say a good portion of us are willing to do a lot.
Getting sick is dreaded by some folks so much that 80% of people actually say they’d be willing to take a pay cut if it means they’d never get a cold again, while 61% would rather endure sitting next to a crying baby on a flight rather than be seated alongside someone with a cold.
As for the everyday things we do to keep from catching a bug, obviously the biggest move is to avoid sick people (88%), while 57% of people will clean items sick people touch, and 48% avoid food that’s been prepared by someone who’s ill. Other precautions include moving seats on public transportation (34%) and canceling plans on a sick person (31%).
