Let’s face it, most people have some form of stress in their lives but a new study suggests that young folks are spending a good portion of their day dealing with it. According to a new survey of 18 to 25-year-olds, most spend about six hours a day “stressed out,” with 10% worried they have no one to talk to about their fears.
So, what are they all stressed out about? Well, not surprising, money is the top stressor, followed by the future, their weight and overall appearance, and their health. Other stressors include:
- Getting a job
- Good work/life balance
- Getting onto the property ladder
And social media isn’t really helping folks all that much. While most in that age range have about 165 friends on social media, 85% still feel lonely, and 40% say social media adds to their stress. A lot of them are also trying to be something they are not, with, 40% feeling the pressure to keep up with everyone else, 40% feeling pressure to impress others, and 33% feeling like they have to fib to so their life sound better than it really is.
