You may have heard that the key to successful mornings could be in locking down a solid routine. And while some high-profile CEOs may get up at 5 a.m. to start their day with meditation or a workout, there’s something else you may want to consider adding to your early morning schedule: sex. Because according to a new survey, it could make you feel more energized and productive throughout the day.
Researchers at Mattress Advisor surveyed nearly 1,000 people who are in a relationship and living with their partner and asked them about their bedroom habits. And it turns out getting it on in the morning helps put some serious pep in their step. According to the survey, 53% of men said morning sex had a positive effect on their productivity and 45% of women agreed. Saturday and Sunday are the most common days people reported having morning sex, thanks to all that extra time they have on the weekends.
Getting up early enough to have sex may mean adjusting your routine, but there are benefits to a healthy sex life aside from physical pleasure. Previous research has shown sex to be the ultimate mood booster, blood pressure reducer, and energizer, plus it can increase relationship satisfaction, too. And it’s definitely a more fun way to start your day than checking emails.
