One of the most important things people look for when dealing with companies is customer service, yet time and time again folks are forced to deal with bad customer service, and it drives them crazy.
A new poll finds that 66% of Americans have experienced bad customer service in a store, online or at a restaurant. And it seems one of the things people hate most is being put on hold, with 51% of people saying it’s the worst customer service experience they have to deal with.
People hate being put on hold so much that 32% of folks say they’d go without sex for a whole week if it means they wouldn’t have to deal with it ever again. What’s more, 40% say they’d prefer watching water boil than to be put on hold, while 30% would rather watch paint dry.
But being put on hold isn’t the only negative customer experience people have to deal with. Others include:
- Transferring me again and again (48%)
- Dealing with a grumpy employee (41%)
- Never ultimately finding a solution to my problem (41%)
- Abruptly hanging up mid-conversation (40%)
