As if 2020 wasn’t already bad enough, a new report reveals it’s been particularly rough on relationships.
According to a Dating.com survey:
- 67% of current site users went through a breakup in the last year.
- That is the most breakups compared to the last three years, both nationally and internationally.
- In a similar 2019 survey, only 34% had gone through a breakup.
- Of those who went through a breakup this year, 49% had been living with their partner, while 18% were not.
- For those who were living with their S.O., 25% said living together caused a lot of fights, which led to the split.
- 15% of those who split during quarantine say their relationship ended because they discovered unfavorable characteristics about their partner.
- 75% of those surveyed are back on the dating site to try and move on after their breakup.
