Wow, what a storm on Friday afternoon. So a little after 3, it just starting raining lightly. And then a little harder and then… bam! Pouring down rain so hard I couldn’t see the neighbors. And then quarter-sized hail.
There is a lot of construction up the hill from me and all of a sudden there was all this water that came down from the dirt road up the hill…. it broke through a small berm of dirt... and then... well, see below… it all came right through my front yard. In all, it was 1.80 inches of rain in 45 mins.
Wow, now I know what Mark Ronchetti means when he says flash flooding from a thunderstorm!
That's 14 inches of wet sand and mud on my driveway. And the last pic shows the 4 feet of water that formed inside my lower front yard area. Oh geez. They are out there today cleaning it up. Thank goodness I have a 4 wheel drive, otherwise I would not have been able to get out!!!
