So all summer, I have been taking some long weekends to very cool places. This weekend it was Silverton, CO. An old mining town and incredibly beautiful. I have been there a couple of mines but never camped there. It’s at 9,300 feet, but the mountains around it seem crazy high. Well, they are, with some up to 14K. It was super green up there and there were hummingbirds everywhere. So many, that it was almost like my ears were ringing!
We took a Jeep up to Yankee Boy. Man was that incredible. Check out some of the pics of that below. Red Mountain pass was also spectacular.
One crazy thing did happen though… but it wasn’t until I was just about home. I made a turn to the left about 5 mins from home, and I catch in my driver’s side mirror, my poopie hose from the 5th wheel went flying across the road and came all apart. I am not sure how that happened… I know locked the little door to the tube it stays in. It’s now on the shopping list! =-)
