Jelly Roll got emotional during a recent visit to his old jail cell.
On CBS Sunday Mornings he took a trip to the jail that was home in Nashville a while back. While leading a CBS correspondent through the facility, Jelly Said that jail suck. He said that there was a time in his life when he truly thought this was it. Even when he left, he didn't have a plan. He says he knew that he loved music, and it was the only thing he had any skill set in.
Jelly Roll's first stint in jail was at a youth detention facility at 14. He then served an 18-month sentence for aggravated robbery at 16 years old. And for the next decade, he was in and out of jail, mostly on drug-related charges. And now he’s one of the biggest artists in country and he’s nominated for Grammys next month.
