Over A Third Of Us Run On Empty Half The Week

Do you feel like you’re running on empty most of the time? New research reveals that many of us do and we’re not always turning to the healthiest options to feel better.

According to a new poll of 2-thousand U.S. adults:

  • More than a third (38%) say they feel low on energy at least four days a week.
  • That same number of respondents say these low energy levels spiraled into feeling burned out in 2023.
  • To help boost their energy, 63% drink a caffeinated beverage, 47% go with a glass of water and 46% want something with sugar.
  • Half turn to energy drinks when they’re having a low energy day, while 20% have energy drinks every day.
  • Nearly half (44%) admit to being “multi-beverage goblins” with at least three drinks on their desk at any given time.
  • As for the effects of low energy levels, about a quarter (23%) say they’re impacted more mentally than physically (17%), or emotionally (16%), while 38% admit it affects them in all three ways.
  • The average time people notice their energy slump hit is 2:44 p.m.
  • Just over three-quarters (78%) say they want more out of their day than “just making it through” and they’re willing to commit to eating nutritious food (78%), getting more sleep (54%) and drinking more water (46%) to get there.
