Drinking 3 Cups Of Tea A Day May Slow Aging

Recent research from Sichuan University in China, and published in “The Lancet,” suggests that drinking three cups of tea every day may offer significant anti-aging benefits.

The study, which was observational and involved nearly 14-thousand participants from the U.K. and China, evaluated their tea-drinking habits, including the type of tea they drank and how much. Participants who consistently drank tea showed signs of slower aging, although it was mainly men with healthier diets and lower incidences of anxiety and insomnia who appeared to benefit most.

Researchers believe it could be the polyphenols and flavonoids in tea and their effect on gut health that could be behind the reduction in age-related diseases and lower mortality.
