Seeing Our Partner Cleaning Is A Turn-On For 69% Of Us!

Forget flowers and jewelry, if you really want to impress your partner, you may want to mop the floor and do the dishes. According to a new survey, 69% of Americans say the act of seeing their partner clean is a total turn-on.

The poll of 2-thousand U.S. adults, half of whom are in a relationship, also reveals:

  • It really is the little things that count when it comes to romance, as people would rather receive the gift of a clean house (17%) than a pricey present (11%).
  • Two-thirds of respondents (67%) say a clean, fresh-smelling house would make them more likely to “get fresh” with their partner.
  • Having the house smell clean is the key, as twice as many women find that clean smell appealing than those who prefer the smell of flowers.
  • People seem to know the impact their home can have on their love life, since 82% of those surveyed make an extra effort to clean before bringing a date home.
  • Cleaning habits can also affect long-term relationships, as 34% of those in relationships with someone who has similar cleaning habits have been together for at least five years.
  • Household chores are shared equally by 60% of respondents, including laundry (51%), dishes (50%) and sweeping (46%).
  • But women are more likely than men to feel the cleaning duties aren’t equally divided (39% compared to 27%).
  • While cleaning the house can help make your partner happy, bad cleaning habits can have the opposite effect, as 68% say an unclean-smelling home would be an instant deal breaker.
  • If their date’s home didn’t smell fresh, 43% say they would leave, while a third would go to the extreme of ending the relationship.
  • Nearly a third (65%) say they’re less likely to move in with a partner if they have poor cleaning habits.
  • And those who clean for at least 30 minutes a day are likely to “get fresh” twice as often as those who only clean once a month or less.
