Owning a home feels out of reach for a lot of young people these days, so it seems desperate times call for desperate measures. A new survey asks people what they’d be willing to give up sex for and many of them would do it to become homeowners.
Bloom Stories, an audio erotica platform, polled 2-thousand adults about the trade offs they’d consider and found:
- More than a quarter of all respondents would happily stop having sex for an entire year if it meant they’d have enough money for a deposit on a home.
- But Gen Z is even more willing, as half of them say they’d be celibate for a year to afford a home.
- And that’s not the only thing they’d trade their sex life for. A quarter of Gen Z would abstain to get a promotion at work, while a third would give up sex to get a raise.
- As for millennials, only 32% would choose to keep having sex instead of taking a deposit for a home, or a raise or a promotion at work.
- Among respondents age 45 and older, just over half would pick being a homeowner over being able to keep having sex.
- Men were also more likely to say no to giving up sex, as 45% of guys surveyed say they couldn’t live without sex for a year, no matter what they’d get in return. Only 23% of women said the same.
