A quick trip to a dog park is a good reminder of how many different breeds and sizes of dogs people have as pets. While we all have our favorite breeds, some breeds are clearly more popular than others and a new report tells us which ones they are.
With National Dog Day today, August 26th, Camp Bow Wow has just released their annual list of the top five large and small dog breeds.
- The nationwide doggy day care and boarding business determines the list based on its database of canine clients for 2024.
- For the seventh consecutive year, the Labrador retriever is number one for the large breeds.
- On the small dog side, the miniature poodle comes in first for the second year in a row.
- They’ve also identified the most popular dog breeds in each state.
- Labrador retrievers top the list in the majority of states, including us here in New Mexico!
