Spring arrived early this morning at 3:01 MT/ 4:01 CT! There are only two times of the year when the Earth's axis is tilted neither toward nor away from the sun, resulting in a "nearly" equal amount of daylight and darkness at all latitudes. These events are referred to as Equinoxes. (Vernal Equinox - the first day of Spring). Around the equinox, we're gaining over two minutes of extra daylight each day, so it will take less than a month from now to gain an additional hour of sun.
