Summer will be here before we know it and while we may welcome the warm weather, we could do without the bugs that come with it. Mosquitoes are one of the most annoying, as their bites can ruin an otherwise perfect outdoor experience, but some parts of the country have it worse than others and a new report highlights the itchiest areas.
- Terminix’s annual list of the Top 50 Mosquito-Infested Cities has just come out.
- It’s based on the pest control company’s 2024 service data from more than 300 branches nationwide.
- So, where did people have the most mosquito problems? Los Angeles is number one, holding onto the top spot from last year.
- Dallas is second, followed by New York City.
- Terminix reports that these urban areas offer the perfect storm of warm temperatures, plenty of rain and stagnant water, which create ideal breeding grounds for the insects.
- The research also reveals the states with the most mosquitoes: Texas, California, Florida, Georgia and New Jersey.
- New Hampshire is the lucky state with the least mosquitoes, followed by Vermont, Idaho, Massachusetts and Maine.
