Mac Miller will always hold a special place in Ariana Grande's heart.

In the midst of promoting her new single "7 Rings," the 25-year-old singer made sure to acknowledge her ex Mac's birthday on Saturday (January 19). On what would have been his 27th birthday, Ariana simply tweeted "miss u." While she didn't add any context to the post, and deleted it shortly after, her fans immediately showered her with uplifting messages as they knew exactly who the post was about.

Ariana, who dated Mac for nearly two years before breaking up last May, additionally shared two never-before-seen images of her and the late rapper to her Instagram Story.

Other artists to mourn Mac on his birthday included, Juicy J, Chevy Woods, Thundercat, Wifisfuneral, and Kehlani, who actually shared a screenshot of him reacting to her baby news along with the caption: "happy birthday doode. wish you could meet her. love you. 🧡"

As fans know, Mac died of an accidental overdose in September. Since his death, those closest to him have made it their mission to ensure the Pittsburg rapper is never forgotten. Most recently, it was announced that Mac earned his first-ever Grammy nomination in the best rap album category for his fifth studio album Swimming. Mac's mom, Karen Meyers, reacted to the news on Instagram last month, sharing a screenshot of the Recording Academy’s announcement Tweet that listed Mac and his fellow best rap album nominees. Karen captioned the post with angel, prayer hand, and heart emojis. She also announced that she and Mac's father will be in attendance at the show to receive the award if Mac does, in fact, win.
