Blake Shelton’s Nashville bar Old Red is facing a lawsuit over its lighting. "The Tennessean" reports that the Nashville Metro Historic Zoning Commission is suing the establishment over their exterior red lights.
Apparently, a policy passed in August, 2017 prohibits colored exterior lights in historic areas, and Blake’s Lower Broadway property is smack in the middle of one. The suit is seeking an injunction to require Old Red’s parent company, Ryman Hospitality, to switch out the red lights for white ones. The suit insists that the company was only approved to have white exterior lighting.
While Ryman Hospitality didn’t comment on the suit, other owners on Lower Broadway believe the commission’s guidelines are an overstep.
