Maddie Font embraced an “exciting and scary” era in her career with her debut solo EP, Drive Me Around, on Friday (November 6).

Font, 31, co-wrote each of the four tracks on the Jonathan Singleton- and Chip Matthews-produced collection. Drive Me Around includes the title track, plus “Make It Up To Me,” “All The Red In California,” and “When A Woman Stops Crying.” The Maddie & Tae star “isn't starting over, but instead embracing the opportunity to show audiences who she is today,” according to a press release announcing the EP’s debut.

“Stepping into this new chapter on my own has been equal parts exciting and scary, but the love and encouragement I've felt along the way has meant more than I could ever put into words,” Font said in a statement. “I'm so grateful for the friends, family and every single one of you who have cheered me on and made this new beginning feel a little less scary and a whole lot sweeter.”

“I wrote this EP with some of my best friends and learned so much about myself and my writing process along the way,” Font continued in her statement. “These songs hold such a special place in my heart, and I hope fans find a little piece of themselves in them, too.”

The final song on the project, “When A Women Stops Crying,” was co-written with Taylor Kerr, Font’s Maddie & Tae duo partner. Font and Kerr, 31, confirmed to PEOPLE in December 2025 that they’re splitting up as a duo after 15 years together; however, it’s not a “breakup.” The pair remain close friends while Kerr steps back to focus on her family, and Font continues with her solo career. Kerr and her husband, Josh Kerr, are parents to daughter Leighton Grace, who was born in January 2022, and son Chapel Shields, born in October 2024. Font and her husband, Jonah Font, recently announced that she’s pregnant with Baby No. 2. Their baby girl, arriving in early 2027, will join big brother Forrest Henry, who arrived in September 2023. Maddie & Tae released their final recording as a duo earlier this year. They delivered an emotional rendition of “You’ll Be in My Heart” from the Tarzan soundtrack as part of an EP putting country twists on Disney classics.

Font premiered the “Make It Up To Me” music video on Friday, featuring her husband. Watch it below, and find the full Drive Me Around EP on iHeartRadio here.
