Kenny Chesney debuted a smoldering ballad that serves as the opening track to his upcoming studio record.

Chesney’s “Burn My Boat” — written by Casey Beathard, Ryan Tyndall and Tucker Beathard, and produced by Chesney— arrived on Friday (July 31). It’s the latest song to arrive from his 11-track album, Silver Sands Marina, following the title track and “Carry On.” Chesney sings: “So take this heart and light it/ Send it up in smoke/ I think I found my island/ Burn my boat.”

“Some of these songs are unlike anything people have heard, or haven’t heard in a long time,” the 2025 Country Music Hall of Fame inductee said in a statement. “Some of them go deep, some of them will make people turn it up, a few will make them laugh… But, together, I think they’ll remind them how great it is to be alive. Even on days where you need a song like ‘Carry On,’ we’re making the best of what we’ve got.”

Chesney, who recently marked the opening of his exhibit in the Country Music Hall of Fame, previously said Silver Sands Marina was created “with human emotions that make us feel alive.” He said the great thing about songs is “they hold life like nothing else.” Chesney explained that he selected the title track because he realized it “defines the album. Beyond the story of these two people, this small, lakeside motel that’s existed for generations, it shows the reality that the things that matter actually exist beyond time or place; they’re timeless and always.”

Silver Sands Marina will arrive on September 25. It follow’s Chesney’s 2024 studio record, Born, and adds to decades of career-spanning hits by the East Tennessee-born country star.

Chesney is part of the star-studded, genre-spanning lineup of the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Festival presented by Capital One. The lineup also includes BTS, Benson Boone, Cardi B, Goo Goo Dolls, Lainey Wilson, Major Lazer, Muse, Snoop Dogg, Weezer and Zara Larsson, with more to be announced. Ryan Seacrest will host the two-night event when it returns on September 18 and September 19 to T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
