Millennials Just Can’t Stand To Be Separated From Their Fur Babies

It’s no secret that people love their pets, often more than their families, and a new survey reveals just how attached some people are to their fur babies. Zulily conducted a survey of Millennials in conjunction with National Love Your Pet Day (which is Tuesday), which reveals that some people love their pets so much they can’t bare to be away from them.

Overall, 65% of Millennial pet owners say that being separated from their pets for more than a week is way more stressful than being without their phones for the same period of time (35%). And even short periods of time away from a pet can bother some people, with 81% saying they get concerned when they leave their animal to do things like run errands.

Believe it or not, pet owners want to be around their pets so much that 71% say they’d be willing to take a pay cut if they could bring their pet to work, while 21% would take a 20% pay cut if every day could be “bring your pet to work day.”

And when it comes to relationships, pets often win out over other humans. In fact, 42% of pet owners say they’d rather snuggle with their pet than their S.O, while 45% say getting their pet’s approval of a new love interest is more important than getting their family’s approval.
