If you think getting kids to do chores is hard, try getting your hubby to do some. But it seems more and more gals out there have found a way to get their man to help around the house, and not surprisingly, it involves sex.
Apparently something called “Choreplay” – exchanging chores for sex – is gaining in popularity in some households, and definitely on the Internet. More and more women have been posting pictures of cleaned rooms or mopped floors, using the hashtag #choreplay, so folks know just what they did to get it.
But not everyone is down with some choreplay. In fact, when one influencer shared a photo of her kissing her hubby and holding a sign that ready “helping with housework so you can get lucky is called choreplay,” she got a lot of negative feedback. Some called it “highly disrespectful,” while experts note it may indicate that you’re in a “transactional relationship, constantly bartering to get your needs met,” which isn’t good.
·And then there are the couples who mix chores with romance together. Erin Boyle, a writer from Brooklyn, and her hubby does something called “chore dates,” in which they get a babysitter so they can tackle a chore, and then end the evening with dinner out or just some together time. “If we can multitask and have it be romantic as we get things done, all the better,” she shares. “There’s no need for everything to be so quid pro quo.”
