This year has certainly been a tough one for workers, and it’s definitely starting to show.
A new Robert Half survey finds:
- 34% of workers say they are more burned out today than they were a year ago.
- 45% are just as burned out on the job as thy were a year ago
- 21% say they have less burn out.
- As for the biggest reason for their burnout, 20% say it’s having a busier plate at work.
- Women are more likely to say they are suffering more burnout than men (38% vs 30%).
- Of the 28 cities polled, Indianapolis workers are the most likely to say they are suffering more burnout (46%), followed by Dallas and Raleigh (43% each).
- 35% of workers with children are suffering more burnout than last year, while 33% of those without kids say the same.
- Younger employees are more likely to say they are worn out by their job.
- 37% of those 25 to 40 say they are experiencing a higher degree of burnout, as compared to 32% of those 41 to 54 and 29% of those 55 and older.
And the good news is all this burnout is not going unnoticed by bosses.
- 88% of senior managers are concerned about staff retention.
- 47% of managers say they are concerned because employees are managing heavy workloads and are on the brink of burnout.
