A single TikToker looking for love on Hinge got an unexpected response when she was matched with someone she already knows - her little brother. Brooke Averick shared the dating app mishap in a video that’s gotten more than 2.4-million views. The 24-year-old from Philadelphia got the cringey recommendation while at home with her family for Thanksgiving and joked, “We will be suing Hinge.”
In the viral clip, Brooke says, “Something I’m most grateful for is my most compatible with on Hinge has been updated.” She then shows her screen and reads “Most Compatible: Brooke & Noah, we think you two should meet.” She then teases that they agreed to meet and were already spending the holiday together and things were going well, before dropping the bombshell, “And here he is and the fact of the matter is: This is my brother.”
The siblings seem to have a good sense of humor about the incestuous pairing and TikTok got a good laugh at their expense. “I was like ‘wow they look alike and then I was like ‘oh,’” one user commented. Another joked, “Hinge knew it’s a pandemic and you gotta stick to the household to be safe.” And even Meghan Trainor commented with a “HAHAHA.”
