A wolf moon is the first (and in most years, the only) full moon to occur in January. The name comes from the fact that wolves were thought to howl more frequently during the first month of the year. The moon will reach peak fullness at 12:16 p.m. MST. But you wont be able to see it until is comes over the Sandias at about 5:00 p.m.
