TikTok is full of trendy recipes, dances and hacks to try and the latest one has our attention because it’s from a doctor and it promises better sleep. Dr. Jess Andrade has recently gone viral on the site after sharing her simple hack that could help anyone who’s struggling to fall asleep and all it takes is a pair of socks.
The doc with more than a million followers addresses that sleeping in socks is a divisive topic, but she’s on the side of Team Socks in Bed. “So wearing socks makes your feet warm and this opens up the blood vessels that cool the body down,” she explains in the video. “The body being cool tells the brain that it’s time for bed, so actually people that wear socks tend to fall asleep faster.”
The clip has more than 19-million views, but not everyone is a fan of the idea. Some commenters say wearing socks to sleep is “uncomfortable” and one even jokes that Dr. Jess “forgot to mention that people who wear socks to bed tend to be serial killers.” All kidding aside, if all it takes to fall asleep in a flash is a pair of socks, it’s worth a try.
