Numbers out from the U.S. Agriculture Department show 68,000 tons of red and green chile were produced last year. That’s an 8 percent increase over the previous year. The value of the crop also increased to nearly $52 million.

But the one thing that I have noticed is that the mild and medium green chile is hotter. Have you noticed that?Like when I got to Blakes or Wecks, the green chili is much hotter. I am thinking it’s cuz we didn’t get as much rain last summer with the “non-soon” summer. Whew!
