New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham announced the state's mask mandate has been lifted, effective immediately.
In addition to most indoor spaces, the mandate is lifted for schools and daycares, leaving the decision up to individual districts and daycares. Masks are still required at hospitals, nursing homes and detention facilities.
Albuquerque Public Schools, Rio Rancho Public Schools, and Los Lunas schools have announced face masks will be optional for all students and staff, regardless of vaccination status.
