There’s nothing better than a pair of jeans that fit perfectly, but the struggle to find them is real. Trying on pair after pair in the store is no fun, but it’s the price we pay for dream-fitting denim, right? Not according to a TikTok hack that claims to help you determine if a pair of jeans will fit without ever having to put them on.
Users are sharing videos of the trick they claim helps ensure the perfect fit and it’s pretty easy to do. Just put the waistband around your neck, like a cape, and if they wrap around perfectly without excess fabric around your neck, the jeans should fit around your waist. The search for “jean hacks around neck” has over 337-million views so far and lots of users are trying it out for themselves and sharing their attempts.
TikToker Nicole Fay is one of many who tried the hack and posted a video this week of her success with it and it’s racked up more than 4.5-million views already. Even she was surprised how well it works, commenting, “Holy s**t, they fit! How do you guys come up with this?” But not everyone is a fan and some are pointing out that the trick doesn’t work well for those with curvier bodies, including a user who goes by Allison. “I’m here to tell you that it’s not true for all bodies,” she says in a clip. “If you’re like me and you have an apron belly, this little hack is not for us, ladies.”
