The weather people have been saving that we may be in for another warmer and dryer than usual winter this year. It looks like that is coming true. A new forecast is out that says for the third year in a row, we’ll have a LaNina winter. That’s bad news for our lakes and rivers and sets us up for another bad fire season in the spring.
There is one piece of good news… this LaNina will ease off in January and we could go back to a normal pattern

We also got the news late last week that Sandia Peak ski area will not open this winter. The decision is based on the forecast of a weak snowfall winter ahead (again) and the area’s trouble hiring staff for a short season.
