Your Dog Bowls Could Be Making You Sick, What To Do!

(There are my dogs, Casey and Storm. This is what happens when I watch TV at night!)

There is something in your kitchen (or in my case laundry room), that we are not cleaning, that we should be. That would be the dog food bowl and the water bowl.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has done research and it shows we don’t really clean these bowls much, and we really need to be. The problem is that these bowls create an environment where harmful bacteria, such as salmonella and listeria can grow, big time. These two bacteria can cause diarrhea, fever, stomach cramps or pain, and nausea with symptoms more severe in pregnant women, children, adults over the age of 65, and those with immune issues.

Among the things they say to do is to and end with clean hands. Both before and after handling pet food and treats, wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and hot water. And… you should be washing your pet bowls every day!

Check out all the info and a bunch more tips about handling dog food here.
