For better or worse, a lot of things change as we get older. While some are downsides, like gray hair and wrinkles, it turns out, your sex life isn’t one of them. According to a new survey, sex actually gets better with age.
LELO, a luxury sex toy brand, looked at how the sex habits of 2-thousand people ages 50 and older have changed and found that while 77% of them admit they’ve noticed significant changes, many of them are positive. For one, nearly half (45%) of respondents say they’re having the best sex of their lives as they age.
The poll also reveals:
- Most people are having less sex now than when they were younger, with the majority saying their 30s are when they were most sexually active.
- But one in eight in the over-50 set still have sex five times a week.
- Just over a third (35%) say they’re more intimate than ever before and that their sex drive is higher now.
- Another 38% would like to have more sex, but don’t have the time because they’re always working (42%), live with other people (39%) or have family come over often (36%).
- Almost half (48%) of those whose kids have moved out say their sex life has drastically improved since then.
- Two-thirds of respondents like experimenting in the bedroom and 53% say they’re more comfortable with trying new positions than ever before.
- The most popular places at home that people have gotten it on are the bedroom (69%), the living room (48%), the laundry room (25%) and the staircase (25%).
- But some folks have already been as adventurous as they want to be, as 57% feel they’ve accomplished everything they wanted to do sexually in life.
