What Singles In New Mexico Are Looking For

Dating can be challenging, especially with new trends coming and going all the time. It can be tough for singles to keep up, but a new study gives us some insight into the world of dating in 2024.

Match Group just came out with their 13th annual Singles in America report. They talked to more than 5-thousand singles about sex, relationships and love and found:

  • Nearly a third (31%) have had a consensually non-monogamous relationship at some point, but half (49%) of singles say their ideal sexual relationship is traditional monogamy.
  • The types of non-monogamy people have tried include:
    • Monogamish (21%) - Being in a committed relationship that allows sex with others.
    • Polyamory (11%) - Partners in a relationship agree they can have romantic relationships with other people.
    • Open relationships (13%) - A committed relationship that allows partners to openly have sex or romance with others.
    • Swinging (12%) - A romantic relationship where partners look for other sexual partners together.
  • Not every single American is focused on their sex life, 21% of those surveyed don’t want a sexual relationship right now.
  • Singles are using Artificial Intelligence as a tool to find love, 14% of online daters have already used AI for dating, including to write their dating app profile (43%) or to help them write a first message (37%).
  • Singles say the three most important factors in a healthy relationship are trust, effective communication and mutual respect.
  • For the second year in a row, money issues are the biggest stressor for singles, with personal day-to-day finances (24%) topping the list, followed by the economy and inflation.
  • While one in three singles admit feeling burned out in their dating lives at times, 52% of singles say they rarely feel this way.
  • More singles are taking care of their mental health, with 57% either going to therapy or being interested in going, up from 48% last year.
  • Getting married is still an end goal for many, as more than half of young singles see marriage in their future and 79% believe they can have lifelong marriage.
