People have long been fascinated by UFOs and the idea of life on other planets, but for many of them, it’s much more real than just an idea. It turns out, a lot of folks believe aliens are very real. So real that they’re already making Earth their home.
More than half of Americans (53%) think aliens exist, according to a new survey of 1,000 adults. While it finds that 34% don’t share that belief, many believers are beyond convinced, including 37% who think aliens are living among us right now.
The poll also reveals:
- A third of respondents feel extraterrestrials are living here on our planet in disguise.
- But 41% disagree that aliens are walking and talking among us and 22% admit they’re not sure.
- Men are slightly more likely to believe aliens exist than women (56% compared to 49%).
- Some believers even have ideas about who may currently be an alien, including 39% who say their boss is a definite possibility and a third who say a certain celebrity may be one.
- If aliens officially make contact, 43% feel the current world leaders are the right people to represent Earth.
- But if we need new Earthlings to represent us in talks with the beings from another planet, 42% of those surveyed think they’d be able to secure peace for our planet.
